Cantabria has a National Park, five Nature Reserves and a Natural Reserve, and other areas affected by various forms of protection.

Parque Natural Saja-Besaya: on most National Hunting Reserve of Spain, formed between 1948 and 1966, has this natural park that covers most of the western region of Cantabria.
