The cave is open all year round guide service counting. The tour lasts 45 minutes. It is performed in groups of 4.
SCHEDULE
During the months of January, February, November and December, Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30 to 15:00 h. From 1 March to 14 June and from September 15 to October 31, Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30 to 14:30 pm and from 15:30 to 18:00 h. From 15 June to 14 September every day of the week from 9.30 am to 20.00 pm

ACCESS
It is necessary to reach the village of San Felices de Buelna (CA-170), where it is taken at the height of Rivero, a road that leads (after 0.6 km) to the people of Tarriba. From there you take a track leading to Mount Texas. After about 1.7 km. It appears Pena left the Horn, where the cavity is opened.

Since 1903, when the Mayor of Rio Hermilio recognizes the first artistic parietal, evidence has been given the scientific importance of this cave.
The extent and insolation were attractive lobby for the last groups of Neanderthals and early Homo sapiens, who occupied the lobby of the cavity, the outer zone, as dwelling place. Even in more recent times, during the Copper Age and even the Civil War, it became this underground space use for various purposes.
The first figures, some have now disappeared, are placed in the outer zone. In this space lobby gleams a matter of horse wide and deep groove.

The actual ground area or within, which is accessed by a low and narrow passage gives access to different sectors of medium size, contains the largest artistic wealth. Hornos de la Peña shows one of the most complete sets of prints of the Cantabrian region.
Figures highlight the large and naturalistic conception. Horses, bison, aurochs, goats, deer, reindeer and a possible way up the serpentine animal bestiary transmitting, by the attention to detail (mane, hair, eyes, mouths, etc.). Who gave the artist during the execution, a precise knowledge of animal anatomy.

The figures were made mainly by etching technique was documented only a black drawing of a horse. The methods of recording are varied: the fine incision and digital design, representing the interior panels, and abrasion, typical of the entry area.
