Free tours 26 routes in the Picos de Europa National Park, organized by the Ministry of Environment, can be made until 30 September. The routes run through this natural area protected by three strands: Asturias, Cantabria and León.

The Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs is organizing a year in the National Park Picos de Europa complimentary guided tours during the summer by 26 mountain routes where visitors, accompanied by guides, they can enjoy this space protected natural area.

In the prospectus Routes 2009 will gather the itineraries of this free public service day to visit the three strands of the National Park Picos de Europa: Asturias, Cantabria and León. There is no need any reservations, just show at the appointed time at the point of departure.

The offer of this summer includes two new guided tours in the area of Leon, and another one in Sajambre in Valdeón. In Sajambre carried out a brief tour through the forests of the place and ends with a visit to the factory light and Sajambre Soto school. Moreover, in the valley of Valdeón novelty is the path of Mount Corona, whose itinerary runs through the forest where lies the shrine of the patron saint of the valley.

Each guide will accompany a maximum of 20 persons and a minimum of three, we recommend you take your hiking boots or running shoes, raincoat and a sweater, and on routes of more than four hours, some food and water.

These routes in the National Park Picos de Europa are performed in the morning and are designed so that anyone can participate at any time, although it is important to have a minimum of physical condition to save some slopes of runs.
