All are marked by small Romanesque churches and collegiate. Joined with the French Road in Carrión de los Condes. The other villages of the Costa also had their Jacobean routes connecting the plateau: Castro Urdiales by Balmaseda and Burgos, Laredo, through the port of Los Tornos, San Vicente de la Barquera to Treceño, and the Port of Cabuérniga Palombera to Reinosa and Aguilar, where it joined to the Besaya. There was also a branch that was close to Santo Toribio de Liebana to enjoy the indulgences attached to the visit of the monastery.
